Dear colleagues and friends,
I am providing more information on the funeral service for Professor Donald Crummey, former director of the Center for African Studies (1987-1997), which will be held tomorrow (Wednesday, 21 August) at 3:30 PM at The Chapel of St. John the Divine in Champaign. As some of you know, Don passed away last Friday, 16 August, at his home in Urbana, surrounded by family and friends.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family has suggested that memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice: The Chapel of St. John the Divine, The College of Wooster (in Ohio), and Save the Males (cancer research) at UCH Foundation/STM, c/o Leprino Building, 12401 E. 17th Avenue, Maile Stop F485, Auroa, CO 80045.
I am attaching the obituary that appears in the local newspaper today, in addition to my earlier announcement.
