I thought of Chidi when I read this.

Where is Chidi, when I need him?

The continuation of war and carnage is one of the arguments that sceptics continue to use against the Messiahship of Jesus – that if the Messiah is supposed to have come, why has he not accomplished what the Messiah is supposed to accomplish (peace on earth, peace in the Middle East, peace in Iraq, peace in Syria, peace in Borno etc) and that since Jesus' appearance in the world - as reported in various media, the Lord's temple is in ruins, there has been the crusades, there has been one war after the other, the Holocaust, climate change, tsunamis, famines, epidemics, 911...

Preaching to the already converted about the beauty and tolerance of Islam - and about Islam's special view of the Blessed Virgin Mary is OK  when you are preaching to tolerant Jews, Muslims and Christians, when all we see is the opposite - we continue to see the evil genie  out of the bottle and  Muslims butchering Christians everywhere just as they butcher cows and say the meat is Halal.

It's not only a national dialogue that's needed – ok so (in my view, with their structures of authority etc., structurally, the Shia are like the Roman Catholics - so they and the Muslim equivalent of the World Council of Churches have to get together and have at the top of their agenda, not Victory – but peace – in their own domains, to begin with.

In Pope Francis'Christmas Message, he does not mention Boko Haram specifically. If they are indeed opposed to Western Education it's unlikely that they read English language newspapers, so won't we all be better off if you brush up your Arabic (or whatever language is their native tongue) in order to address them more effectively – because it's obvious that the Quran and ahadith have not yet succeeded in doing so – and that's why the butchering continues.  Isn't the message supposed to descend from the throat to the heart? To quote one of your alims, talking about knowledge, "(a doer) is more preferable to an ?khem (meaning a do nothing, to be ignorant, to have nothing, inert, weak, feeble)."

"the fool, fixed in his folly, may think
he can turn the wheel on which he turns" (

Koran in the Church, Bible in the Mosque; A message to  the Goebellians and Centrifugalists on Xmas

At this trying moment in the history of my dear country Nigeria, I believe it is not time for sharing champagne or feasting, neither a time to organize parties, but a time for prayer and sober reflection on the way our religious creeds are distorted for personal whims and caprice, by our Ulamas, pastors and politician, for a reason best known to them.

It is high time for us to educate our teaming masses on the position of Christianity in Islam. It is a time for we Muslims to disabuse the mind of our teaming Christians friends, colleagues, neighbors and partners, including our Girl friend and Boy friends that: there is nowhere in the qur'an or Hadith of the prophet Muhammad (saw), where Islam sanction killing or maiming of Christians because they believe Jesus is lord. Yes, Islam believe in the unity of God, Islam believe Jesus (saw) is a prophet of God, not His son, but does that mean we can't live in peace and harmony, with respect for one another? What did Islam says about Mary the mother of Jesus? What is the position of Islam on Jesus (Alaihim Assalam)?

In Qur'an there is a whole chapter called "Maryam", in the chapter, almighty Allah said "ya Maryama, innallahas dafaki, wa mudahharaki, wasdafaki, alal nisa'il alamin" meaning; "Oh Mary, indeed Allah has choosen you, and purify you, and chooses you over and above all women of mankind" why Maryam? Why not Amina the mother of the prophet Muhammad (saw), why not his belove wife Khadija or Aisha?

In a Hadith of the prophet (saw), he said "whatever came to this world must be touch by satan, except Mary and what she begotten" which means Jesus (alaihimus Salam).

The position of Islam on Christianity is that of respect and tolerance, Islam consider Christians as brothers and allies. When Muslims where facing serious persecution from Arabs pagans in Mekkah, some Muslims complained to the Prophet (saw), that they cannot withstand the persecution, and He said to them "migrate to Ethiopia, I heard that, their king is a Christians, you will find solace there" he instructed them to read Chapter Maryam for the King. When he heard the chapter, the King remarked "the only different between u (Muslims) and us (Christians) is like this thin line" this indicate favorable diplomatic relationship between Muslims and Christians since the beginning of Islam. Why few silent voice of our Ulamas and pastors cares to preach this story?

In another circumstance, during Roman-Persian war. Muslims were praying for the victory of Christianity over Zoroastrians, while Arabs pagans were in support of Zoroastrians victory. Almighty Allah revealed a chapter in the qur'an called "Rome" in it, is revealed "gulubatu-l Rum" that Rome will be victorious, as a result Muslims celebrated this glad tiding with fanfare.

This is how the relationship between Muslims and Christians was in the prophetic era, why it is not so today? Are we practicing a religion much more sophisticated than that of the prophet? Must everybody become muslim or vice versa? Was there any time when in the history of any nation or generation whereby everybody believe in one single religion, creed or belief? Why anybody think, his religion is the only religion worthy of adherence.

According to the Jihad rules of engagement, it is prohibited to:

Burn Churches, to kill monks, to kill women and children. Whoever does that in the name of jihad, he is acting contrary to the teaching of Islam.

At this juncture, I want to extend my greeting to all Christian on this important day of the history of mankind; the Birth of Jesus (AH). Merry Xmas and Happy New year in advance.
