Special Issue: 50 Years of Zambian Independence

Call for Papers

Next year, Zambia will celebrate the 50^th anniversary of its independence. In honour of this event, the Zambia Social Science Journal– an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published by the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research – is producing a special issue devoted to the last fifty years of Zambian history. For this special issue, which will be published in 2014, we now invite papers from scholars in any field of the humanities and social sciences, exploring a topic related to Zambia. Topics should fit into or be closely related to at least one of the following thematic areas:

·         Political change

·         Economic development

·         Social issues

·         Culture and religion

·         Migrations, urbanisation, and rural development

·         Environment and natural resources

·         Legal development

·         Health

·         Language policy

Papers are due by 31 January 2014.

Papers published by the Zambia Social Science Journal are anonymously peer reviewed by

at least three reviewers. Final acceptance or rejection of submitted papers rests with the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board reserves the right to refuse any material for publication. The Journal is published bi-annually, with editions coming out in May and November.
