Dear Colleagues,
It is with immense shock and sadness that we have to announce the death of
our colleague Patrick Chabal. Patrick died last Thursday, surrounded by his
family, after bravely fighting a long illness for many years.

Obituaries, and notices of future commemorations and celebrations of
Patrick's many scholarly achievements, will be published in due course.
We mourn the passing of a giant in the field.
