I have been moved to tears by the lovely tribute penned by Professor Falola to honor the life of Sister Lavonda. She was truly an extraordinary woman. As my grandmother used to say, Tomorrow is not promised to us, we only have today. Let us all live today as if it were our last.
May her soul rest in perpetual peace now and forevermore. Amen.

La Vonda taught us many lessons about how to live, love and laugh. But the most poignant lesson of all, for many of us, especially right now is that she taught about how to die--how to depart with grace and dignity.
May she rest easy in the company of The Ancestors. Ase!!

I am overjoyed that I was able to touch as many lives as I have.Believe me when I tell you that I suffer no more, and I am in a much better place. My ancestors and I have a LOT of catching up to do...
Always remember, life is what you make it. Make it your best...you only live once.
