May your soul rest in perfect peace, Sister La Vonda Staples. You have
demonstrated the supreme strength of the African woman, steely strength
that has held the fabric of the African communities together. You remind me
of our mothers and grandmothers in the villages. Your contributions on this
forum were well thought-out and shall be quoted by future scholars.
Although I did not agree with some of your arguments I respected them and,
personally, respected you. This great forum could honor your memory by
setting up a Sister La Vonda Staples Foundation, along the lines set up by
Sir Toyin and Sister Gloria, with donations ( couple of dollars here and
there!) from members of this forum. This foundation would disburse funds to
people in need. Just a thought.
