-- The Sanusi as CBN governor story demonstrates great dramatic force in the controversial manner of his entry into and exit from the job as well as his style of doing his job as CBN governor.
The story also highlights intersections between the technocratic character of the job he was doing and its political implications, intersections highlighted by the manner in which he did the job.
The Presidency has marshalled a list of allegations against him that suggest an armoury unleashed at an opportune moment.
How accurate are these allegations?
Why are they being invoked now that Sanusi has spoken out on a fantastic sum-forgive my not being able to name the sum, I'm still trying to make sense of it in the midst of the struggling system that is my country, Nigeria-- missing from oil sales accounts, if my description is not too crude?
I see a book in this Sanusi story.
A powerful and possibly great book.
The kind of thing that can win a Pulitzer prize in the US.
Boko Haram Islamic terrorism, the fuel subsidy crisis, the govt expenditure saga, the oil money saga, allegations of erotic/romantic action-sorry to bring this up since I have not confirmed it but it is part of the intrigue- Sanusi's award as central banker of the year [for Africa or the world?] by a Western body-all this fit into this wonderful drama-please forgive my describing it in terms of drama.
