This article and its comments are important for giving a historical profile from particular points of view of the Sanusi saga from his CBN governorship appt to this juncture.
-- A comment also presents a view hinting at his pre-CBN career.
The more elaborate contributions are anti-Sanusi, however.
The article and its comments evoke questions of the intersection of political infighting in a polity with genuine pursuit of anti-corruption reform.
Dele Momodu's lead article is striking for its narrative style and his entertaining analysis, framing the discourse in terms of iconic references to Western popular culture and a Nollywwod film, as I know it to be, the Masters.
His condemnatory description of the relationship between corruption and advancement in Nigerian society, however, is made even more ironic for me by the fact that I understand him to have achieved wealth and prominence through uncritical celebration of members of Nigeria's economic and political elite in his magazine Ovation, and most likely a significant number of this elite being identified with questionable antecedents which are yet to be fully explored and the truth presented to the public, thereby making the writer of the article a target of his own criticism in the drama he analyses.
