USA Africa Dialogue Series - Fwd: [Yan Arewa] AN OPEN LETTER TO THE NORTHERN OLIGARCHY [DAY OF INWARD RECKONING DAWNS IN NORTHERN NIGERIA]

You can fool some people and some time.The hara kiri and all the noise about the north today by the bourgeoisie and their cronies will make you think that there is no region in this world  where its leaders and elders love it than north.But you come to the north,and you will be flabbergasted.From the mountains of Mandara in Adamawa state to the deserted villages of Katsina state.The condition deplorable,the hopelessness,the backwardness are vivid.Even the stadia,the bypass and ring roads,  pedestrian and flyover bridges and roadsides primary school blocks cleverly constructed or upgraded simply to attract political credit  and constructed with not the internally generated revenue but with the so-called peanut federal allocation at highly inflated figures cannot dress the decades of neglect and abandonment.

The same class of elites who benefited immensely from the benevolence of Sardauna are the perpetrators of this gargantuan crime against the northerners.

One can even wonder and ask questions that is it really that people of this part of Nigeria have ever ruled  the country? Yes,they produced most of the leaders of the country but could not account any significant contributions for their people.

In fact,they stole and enriched themselves and their families.Still we are talking about Abacha's loot,a man who fell dead in  1998 yetthe effort to return  the  stashed away loot in Swiss and U.S. Banks is still in progress.

These people who are now singing north ,go to their villages or their quarters where they were born,one cannot count ten doors of their neighbour whom they ever lifted out of suffering.In the morning,their drivers will drive their children to school meanwhile hundreds of children of their neighbours are left behind in the ghetto playing or at the best hawking.You visit their areas and  conduct a survey,what you will find out a dog could not eat.A person who cannot help his door step neighbour is singing about northern interest.Wonderful!

When they found themselves at Federal Level in a position of making some impact on their people,they help no one.They turned against their people and the region of their fore fathers The best thing they are good at according to Dr Aliyu Mohammed Muri is fargar jaji{belated crying} It is when they realized that they are out of favour  that is only then they will begin to cry when already the milk is spilled.

During the military days,they engaged in plotting coups and counter coups for themselves and forgot about the north and northerners.They plunged Agriculture into shame.They destroyed all what the north had and finally they smuggled Obasanjo from Yola Prison to Aso Rock and now see what their selfishness brought north.Their failure gave birth to Boko Haram yet they continue to sing of conspiracy against the north.They forget how they conspired and raped the region blind.Their misrule that fuel corruption ,and lack of opportunities and turn their people into beggars and laughing stock in the country.They feel no qualm at all because they have a scape gaot in federal government upon which they will heap all their misdeeds.
