Father Adeigbo was my HoD. I took a combined honors (BA Hons) in Philosophy and Political Science. This is a great loss for those of us who knew him as a great teacher and mentor.

It is with sadness that I announce the death of Professor (Mosignor) Adeigbo on May 13th. The news was broken to us in the company of his great friend, Professor Oyeshile of the University of Ibadan who is attending a conference in the Czech Republic.
Adeigbo specialized in social and political philosophy. He served for many years as the Head of the Dept. of Philosophy, University of Ibadan, and also as Dean of Faculty of Arts. At the time of his death, he was the Rector of of the Catholic Institute of West Africa in Port Harcourt.

A great teacher and mentor, he was responsible for producing a crop of PhD students who are now professors in their own right.

An amiable character and a fertile mind, his loss is a great one.
May his soul rest in peace.
