Sir, special thanks to you for your write-up "Humanising the Nigerian state." Borrowing from you Sir, our institutions have become tragically dysfunctional and productive of confusion and human tragedy. The latest of this is the refurbishing of Akure-Ilesa road. The very bad portions are left unrepaired, while the "best" portions are now screeded. On Monday this week while driving on the road to Akure, I stopped to appeal to men of FRSC to help stop the massive destruction of the road going on in the guise of rehabilitation. Is it that the citizens are crudely being mocked? This is a potentially great nation being brought to nothingness by crude men and women who find themselves in positions of power. Once again Sir, thank you. Prof. Samuel Oluwalana
