Dear All:

As in previous instances, I took the liberty to share the Open Letter from Brother Kissi (Edward) with many friends, colleagues, relatives and acquaintances. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive, often in praise of how very well the letter was written and also for its respectful tone. Below is one such response from Nana, a trained medical doctor (a Physician).

Prof., thank you very much for sharing this wonderful open letter, which was published by USA-AFRICADIALOGUE.

That was a VERY well written open letter by an obviously well-educated Brother, who knows his onions. I like the respectful tone of the letter and his matter-of-fact, while the reasonable approach to this very controversial issue resonates well with me. He is obviously well qualified to address this issue, and he did a great job.

I share the author's sentiments, as I have often used some of  his talking points to make a case for unconditional human freedom. As a medical doctor, I used to be concerned about the spread of diseases through certain human practices, yet I also agree that anybody can, carelessly, spread diseases.

I also very much like the author's wonderful use of the quote by the Protestant Minister (Martin Niemoller, which I have italicized in blue ink below).

"First, they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out
Because I was  not a socialist.

Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because
I was not a Jew…

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."

How true! Discrimination has no boundary, everyday the line is pushed a little further, eventually the indifferent and the discriminator will become the victims...in that order. In other words, what goes around comes around.

Again, thank very much you for sharing this wonderful letter.
Nana.
